The poetic devices used by Kipling

 

 

Kipling used many different poetic devices in his poetry using almost all of them in his pieces. These poetic devices have been compiled into a simple list with their definition for you the readers ease.

 

  • Assonance - the repetition of the same sound in words close to each other

  • Hyperbole - exaggerating for emphasis or rhetorical effect

  • Imagery - a set of mental images or pictures

  • Metaphor - Something used or regarded as being used to represent soething else 

  • Narration - Long poems takes reader on a journey
