Recreated Poem
THE GIANTS
When the earth was new and still to be moulded
By the foot of the giant when he did stamp,
cast were the mountains at his feet
That grew and grew till all were as tall as him
and so they did envelop him,
becoming the stone giant of the North
When the earth was new and still to be moulded
By the breath of the giant when he did blow,
uncorked were the winds and howled they did
The winds howled o'er and under and all around
Till they enveloped him,
becoming the air giant of the East
When the earth was new and still to be moulded
By the strength of the giant when he did pull
swelled up did the tides and seas at his feet
That swelled and moved till waves did he meet
So they all enveloped him,
becoming the sea giant of the South
When the earth was new and still to be moulded
By the seed of the last giant which he did sow,
bushes grew and branches spread
So did the trees grow up to his eyes
till all enveloped him,
becoming the wood giant of the West
